Car strikes home on Near Westside

A car crashed into a home on the Near Westside this morning following a traffic accident.

Rescue workers were called to the south 500 block of Girls School Road where they found a car crashed inside a home with the driver trapped inside, according to a Wayne Township Fire Department news release.

The driver was conscious and talked to crews. He told police he was going southbound on Girls School Road when he struck another vehicle from behind, which caused him to lose control and hit the house.

After crews helped him get out of the car, he was taken to Wishard Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle was evaluated by crews but not transported to a hospital.

No one was home at the time of the crash. The damage estimate and the driver’s identity were not immediately available.
