Results of an investigation into a car-horse accident that severely injured a Park City woman have been turned over to the Summit County Attorneyâs Office for possible charges against a teenage girl.
Summit County Sheriffâs Sgt. Ron Bridge on Wednesday declined to discuss specifics of the investigative report or its recommendations. He confirmed prosecutors would be considering whether charges may be brought against the 16-year-old driver of the car that collided with Lacey Picard, 37, and the horse she was riding on Silver Creek Road on Sept. 5.
The animal died at the scene; Picard was flown by medical helicopter to a Salt Lake City hospital.
While no citations were issued, investigators had said earlier that the girl was believed to have been distracted and possibly speeding at the time of the accident.
Picard, meanwhile, was improving but remained in critical condition on Wednesday, Bridge said.
