UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) â" A Delaware County prosecutor has been charged with a hit-and-run accident earlier this month that seriously injured a teenager.
Upper Darby police chief Michael Chitwood called the November 4th hit-and-run at Township Line Road and Bryan Street âheinous,â noting that it left the 14-year-old victim with head trauma, broken bones, and other injuries while the driver seemed more concerned with the condition of his car.
âHe fled the scene,â Chitwood told KYW Newsradio this morning. âWe can identify him as going around the corner, getting out, looking at the damage to his car, then continuing to flee the wrong way on a one-way street.â

Chitwood says detectives traced the car to 31-year-old Michael Donohue, a five-year employee of the Delaware County district attorneyâs office, who resigned his job last week after being removed from duty. Heâs been charged with assault and reckless endangerment.
The Delaware County DAâs office released a written statement today saying that the Pennsylvania attorney generalâs office has been contacted to handle the prosecution of Donohue.
